Two Proven Ways to Replace Missing Teeth
A bridge is a fixed restoration. Crowns on the teeth beside a gap anchor a lifelike replacement tooth in between โ nothing to take out at night. Dentures are removable. A partial denture replaces one or more missing teeth and clips gently around the teeth you still have, while a full denture replaces an entire upper or lower arch. Both are custom-made for a natural look and a comfortable, secure fit.
When You Might Need One
Teeth go missing for ordinary reasons โ decay, gum disease, an accident. A gap changes more than your smile. Neighboring teeth can drift, your bite can shift, and chewing strains the teeth that remain. A bridge often suits a gap with healthy teeth on both sides. A partial helps when several teeth are missing; a full denture restores a whole arch. We'll walk you through every option honestly, including implants.
What to Expect at Your Visit
Dr. Anvy Sartorius starts with a gentle exam, any needed X-rays, and a plain-English talk about your options. For a bridge, we numb the area, shape the anchor teeth, and take precise impressions โ it feels much like a routine filling โ then place a temporary while your bridge is made. Dentures begin with impressions and careful bite measurements. We partner with premier labs, including Arrowhead Dental Laboratory, Williams Dental Lab, and Burbank Dental Lab, so your new teeth look natural and are built to last. Nervous? We'll go at your pace.
Aftercare, Relines, and How Long They Last
Care for a bridge much like natural teeth: brush twice daily, clean underneath it with floss threaders or a water flosser, and keep up regular checkups. With good care, bridges commonly last 10 to 15 years. Dentures come out at night to soak, and gums need a soft brushing too. Because gums and bone slowly change shape, dentures eventually need relines to stay snug. We handle relines, adjustments, and repairs right here in Los Osos โ a loose denture never has to stay that way.
Paying for Your New Smile
